About this video
Free design competitions with a 3D printer prize
PrintPal runs free 3D design competitions where makers share useful designs for a chance to win prizes. The top prize at the time of this video is a Bambu Lab A1 mini 3D printer (or its cash equivalent).
How to enter
- Go to PrintPal → Competitions and pick an open challenge.
- Make your design: model it yourself, use the AI CAD agent, generate it with AI, or upload a model you already have.
- Publish it to your profile and enter it in the challenge.
You don't need a 3D printer to enter.
What to design
Challenges focus on prints people actually use, for example:
- Functional prints: tools, brackets, clips, hooks and fixes
- Desk organizers and stands: cable holders, phone stands and storage
- Home and kitchen: gadgets, holders and storage
The design doesn't need to be complex. It just needs to be something other makers appreciate and want to print.
Tips for a strong entry
- Solve a real, everyday problem, and say what it is in the description.
- Make it easy to print: flat bottoms, no or minimal supports, and common filaments.
- Add clear photos or renders and list print settings.
- Share your entry, because community engagement can count toward prizes.
