Description
A nice and simple container for a tortoise / small reptile or even crab, Potentially even useful as a sand bath for hamster or snake etc.
My tortoise struggles with drinking from regular bowls but drinks plenty when he gets a bath, so I thought why not combine the 2. Other similar models have steps instead of a ramp, but mine seems to get his shell caught on them so I made a smooth ramp to enter and exit from
Features a dovetail locking design to keep the ramp attached to the bowl and is printable in 2 pieces as i designed it to be printed on my Ender 3 v2. so if your build plate is bigger than 225mmx225mm it should fit just fine!
Its about 270mm long and 200mm wide and 35mm deep with the water section being about 30mm deep
They print flat and already orientated correctly, I'd recommend a brim to help avoid warping as its a big footprint, I'd also recommend using 4-5 walls and make top surfaces at least 1mm thick ( about 5 layers at 0.2mm layer height ) to make it watertight!
ALSO, 3d prints can be hard to clean, so id recommend cleaning with some warm soapy water, and then using some reptile safe disinfectant and cleaning at least once a week, if its just being used for sand then maybe every 2-3 weeks. but with water inside you want to change it daily to prevent bacteria growth.
ill upload an image of the completed print in the enclosure when it's finished printing, tried without a brim and it warped hence I'm recommending a brim lol
