This modular deflecting system redirects HVAC airflow laterally, preventing direct thermal drafting on specific room areas or occupants. 

The design incorporates a mounting bracket system that permits the rapid detachment of the deflector when airflow redirection is not required.

🛠️ Installation Notes

• Mounting Strategy: Secure a minimum of two brackets to the underside of the unit utilizing high-quality double-sided tape. The total number of brackets required is directly dependent on the shear strength of the chosen adhesive.
• Brackets Installation: Lightly sand the surfaces of the brackets, apply a double-sided tape to them and slide them onto the deflector. Test-fit the deflector under the AC to check your desired placement. Mark the exact placement on the AC unit (with Post-it or painter tape), peel off the tape's protective backing and stick the assembly firmly into place. 
• CRITICAL WARNING: DO NOT USE Alien Tape style of double-sided tape. Using it to hang objects upside down subjects the tape to constant gravity, creating a continuous peeling force. This steady weight slowly stretches the viscoelastic gel—replicating the exact parallel pulling motion used to safely remove the tape—causing it to inevitably lose its grip and fail over time.

💡 Material Recommendations

• PLA: Strictly recommended for cooling-only applications.
• PETG: Mandatory if the HVAC unit will be utilized for thermal heating (winter mode), as it possesses the necessary thermal resistance to prevent structural warping.
• Double-sided tape: NO Alien Tape!!!

📦 Pro Tips

• Have the AC running and check if it has horizontal louvers to help redirect the air to the left or right.
• Execute a test fit with the template before committing filament to the full-scale deflector.
• Distribute the brackets evenly across the span of the unit to balance the load on the adhesive.
